Car parking - Insel

Hello,

This will be my fifth time attending Fusion, although previously I’ve always arrived by bus.

This year, we’re planning to come by car and stay at "Insel." However, it seems car tickets are sold out, so parking directly at Insel may not be possible.

Is there an alternative nearby parking area from which we can walk to Insel?

Additionally, could you advise on the best recommended day and time to arrive in order to secure a good spot at Insel?

You can always get a parking spot at tarmac (Landebahn)

From there it's a 10-20 minute walk to insel

You need to arrive early if you want to have a good spot. Insel is popular.

I think next to the street parking was possible. This is not as far as the runway.

Probably you can also unload your stuff near Taxi / Botschaft on the road between Insel and the main area, and afterwards park the car on the runway.

I would suggest the same. There is a ‚short time parking area‘. Park your car there, walk to the ‚pedestrian‘ entrance to get your ticket, find a camp, bring your stuff to the camp, park your car on the regular parking area.

1. Where is exactly taxi / botschaft?
2. When exactly do you recommend to arrive there? Wednesday morning or shall we come tuesday night already to be able to reserve a spot?

There is no entry before wednesday morning, and the villages around the festival are very unhappy about people who arrive too early. With a tent it should easily be possible to find a space at Insel at wednesday morning.

i agree with charno. I never camped at the Insel, but as far i know, many people prefer to camp there. So it will be full early. If you arrive between 7 and 8am on wednesday, you should be good to go.

When we were at Insel in 2023, the entry for cars was closed around noon on wednesday. With a tent it was possible to find a space until evening of wednesday. I'm not sure how this developed, but I'd assume that this got even more relaxed now that it's necessary to buy a limited ticket to camp on the Insel with a car.

In the FAQ it's written that until Thursday 12:00 the holders of Insel-Car-Tickets are expected to find a space, so I'd expect that the same is possible with only a tent as well.
