I actually find the idea with random quite good, unfortunately it does not work close to the event as ppl want to transfer their tickets right away.
In the two weekes before the end of transfer I would ask ppl waiting for a ticket to commit with money already and if they get a ticket it is automaticallly transferred. The only downside all "commited" tickets which are not approved have to be reimbursted. Then we can spare this thread, ppl can just rely on a default distribution mechanism.
