First Timer coming from the United States
Greetings all the way from Tampa Bay, Florida. We are very excited to be making this trip to join all of you at Muritz Airpark in the next few days (7 of us total). We are making our final preparations for the journey over and we're just about ready, but we do have a couple questions that I've had a hard time getting answers to in the FAQs.
Of our group of 7, only my lady and I will be camping. We want to do this the way it's supposed to be done and get the full experience with you guys.
So with that said, just a couple things:
A) What kind of vendors are on site in regards to hygiene and grocery products (if any)? Will everything need to be purchased beforehand or will there be places we can get things like wipes, paper towels, actual towels, and ice to refill our cooler with onsite? We arrive Tuesday before the festival and need to know what we can NOT purchase on site so we can get it ahead of time so we dont need to leave the grounds for anything. We are coming quite prepared already but there's only so much stuff we can put in our luggage.
B) Is every other campsite other than "A" able to be camped with a car? If space runs out with car camping, what is the regular parking situation like and how far away is that from the campsites? We're planning to be there right when the gates open, but you never know. Things happens and we just want to be prepared for anything if worse comes to worse and can't camp with the vehicle next to us. And lastly, any campsites to avoid at all costs? We do want peace and quiet on our downtime but Im hearing thats pretty hard to come by with the stages being so close by...
C) Also, we will be flying into Berlin the weekend before to experience the nightlife around town (Ritter Butzke, Berghain, Kater Blau, Sisyphos, Tresor etc) with a day trip to Hamburg thrown in on Monday. Any recommendations on Bars/Restaurants that aren't tourist traps that you locals go eat at while we're in each city would be awesome.
Thank you in advance for any and all advice. It is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

Re: First Timer coming from the United States
You'll be causing a bit of a nuisance to the organizers if you're arriving before Wednesday. Or they will simply send you away again.
a- not sure about real towels, but the rest can be obtained at "Konsum" or the "intershop" next to Karl Kutter. You may have luck getting ice at the "Oase". Generally resources like electricity are rather sparse. next supermarket is 3km north of off fusion in Reichlin or just take the Shuttle to Mirow.
b- A is without car only, rest is come as you are. Since you're arriving Wednesday you will have access to camping. Otherwise you may park your car outside the fence and camp next to it or enter the area without car.
Peace and quiet... - get earplugs, take sleeping pills, rent a house 5+km away from the area or try to get on the "Ruhe Campingzone" southwest the main camping - they may not let you on there with a car without a child though. Music is not as loud there but you have children being children instead;-)
c- If you mean places without tourists you'd probably have to befriend a local. General rule of thumb: if you have to pay an entrance fee more than 1 EUR, it's not for the locals
Cheers

There is a shopping tent called "Konsum" where you can get the basics for daily festival living including hygienics. Not absolutely sure about Grocery stuff but i thing there will be.Adrian1188 hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 14. Also there are a LOT of food stalls where you can get delicious food 24/7.
Bring some basics for your daily needs, but dont carry to much. Its not necessary - you will get anything you need at the FEstival Grounds.
Camping opens on Wednesday! If you arrive on Tuesday you should try to get a room/bed/appartment around Müritz or Neustrelitz.
Campsites are opened by service personel part by part. On A cars are forbidden.Adrian1188 hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 14. There is enough parking space for cars. Depends on your camping location it could be up to 30 minutes walking. But i dont think you need to walk to your car.
If you have a peak into berlin nightlife BEFORE going to fusion i strongly suggest to stay there with Alcohol. Avoid anything elseAdrian1188 hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 14. Both Hamburg and Berlin have a lot of tourists over the year. Too much tourists. Locals would like to stay at local places. Sorry to say this, but with this overtourism tourist are not welcome everywhere.
Another information... regarding party stuff (not talking about alcohol). Stuff in europe is WAY STRONGER than the stuff you get in US.
PLEASE DO GO to Eclipse tent before consuming anything else than Alcoholics! Inform yourself about the things here. You can find it behind Turmbühne and Cabaret. They are also close to the Paramedics. Eclipse is a voluntary organisation that informs all users about dosages and dangers that come with consuming partystuff. They also take care for people that get a little too much. Dont be one of them
Re: First Timer coming from the United States
I strongly second that. Also the medics next to eclipse offer a free screening service. Be safe! Be amicable and considerate.
And please don't drive under the influence, the coppers love to hassle foreigners as they are easy prey and thus help them get the statistics up leading to stricter legislation.

Re: First Timer coming from the United States
You guys are awesome. I will definitely pass this information on to my group.
And by arriving Tuesday in Larz, we mean we are spending the night at our group's cabin Tuesday night and leaving early Wednesday when the gates open.
Thank you guys again, you have been most helpful.

Re: First Timer coming from the United States
as for the ice since you have a cabin, just freeze some PET bottles with water and use them for cooling during the day.

Re: First Timer coming from the United States
We've been looking through a lot of photos and have noticed a lot of people in long sleeves. So we'll definitely be bringing jackets and a couple blankets to stay warm in the tent.followtheV hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 14. Jun 2019, 14:01 also - dont forget to bring a light jacket.

Re: First Timer coming from the United States
If you arrive by car this is mandatory. There is a 99% chance that you get to know the German police upon arrival. As you might have read in this forum there seems to be a tendency for them to clarify that German is not a big party town for foreigners.followtheV hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 14.
