Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch

This thread is once again full of despicable anti-deutsche strategies.

The attempt to distract from realities with hypothetical scenarios and by supposedly intellectualizing the discourse.
The attempt to portray own knowledge as superior and to deny knowledge to those who show solidarity with Palestine, here specifically to portray them as young and ignorant (hardly in line with the very visible broad international stance and solidarity statements of so many intellectuals).
The attempt to deligitimize Palestinian solidarity by fabricating accusations of anti-Semitism (even towards progressive Israelis and Jews...., often by German Nazi descendents  ).
The morally clear situation of witnessing this genocide or the occupation in general - is being obscured by intellectual language games and universalism rhetoric that ignores concrete power relations or historical inequalities, all while massive violence is happening before everyone's eyes.

All of this is having less and less of an effect because left-wing structures are increasingly seeing through these strategies and abandoning them.
Dont get distracted by it. Instead organize. Those people are an ugly minority.

So much time invested by self proclaimed “educated” people for what?
And still there isn't enough time for dealing honestly with Zionism? Today's Zionist reality bears the signature and is shaped by the ideas of a certain Vladimir Jabotinsky. His racist and colonialist ideas are deeply engraved in the Israeli state. Zionism certainly also had and has more moderate forms. But the reality of Zionism today, and the reality for many, many decades, is the displacement, expulsion, apartheid, occupation and genocide of Palestinians. And the whole thing is supported by the Trump and German governments with the help of arms exports. That's why the vast majority on the international left shake their heads in disbelief at the ultra-German defenders of Zionism, that never fail to come up with their weirdest theories. Why invest all this energy to defend Zionism, when you could be on the street to protest against the arm exports of your government supporting a genocide?

What is happening in Gaza is not ‘complexity’. It is not a discursive ambivalence, but massive, unbounded violence against a largely lawless civilian population. Those who use those strategies above, those who speaks of "ambivalence" and "complexity" in this situation are doing nothing less than relativizing the suffering of the oppressed - in the name of an abbreviated processing of history. That is not left-wing, certainly not radical left wing, that is intellectual complicity, and extremely disgusting.

the last post has no visible relation to this discussion at all. those labelled as anti-german, even if one sees their posts as questionable, are indeed the ones who express their arguments in the shortes way and on point. Reactions are long and distracting.

After a short question I get the reaction to read a whole text, while, if the poster would have understood and digested it, would be able to precisely make his/her point in a couple sentences, which would eventually allow for a discussion.

Moreover the call to stop intellectualizing and just act, not to lose oneself in too much thinking, come on man ;) "choose if You want to be left-wing or thinking" THIS is insulting readers by asuuming them to be stupid.
