In said night I had 2 pairs of socks on, my warmest shoes, my thickest hoodie, a solid leather jacket on top, a scarf type thing and the lovely fusion rocket branded beanie I got a couple of years ago at the limited merch sale. Only thing I would have liked are my underpants, but eh, it was alright. Its also annoying when you go into an indoor floor and it gets warm real quick, undressing again, looking for a place to stash the clothes, worrying about someone accidentally or maliciously taking your stuff, people tripping over your stuff, etc... Experienced it all, so I totally get your annoyance with the cold, as Im annoyed by it myself too sometimesirrelevant hat geschrieben: ↑Sa 5. Jul 2025, 14:46Thanks for sharing your conditions; I can easily see how you suffer under stark sun. Men in general have a higher body temp than women, too, which explains the typical setting of women always complaining about it being cold, while men strut around in T-shirts finding them uncomprehensively whiny.MeterPaffay hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 4. Exactly, my body hates the heat, my skin is fairly pale and my head is hairless. My body produces enough heat on its own for me to get warm quickly when moving, and as if that wasnt enough, I also sweat a lot.
My preference is 22°, personal limit is 25°C and anything above that can fuck off to be honest.
If you saw a stoic looking dude dressed black on black with a black umbrella despite a cloudless sky, that was probably me lol
And with climate change and the general unpredictability of german weather, for me it was very good this year all in all. Id rather have a bit of rain here and there and colder nights instead of melting in 30°+ heat like in 2019. (Have to agree though, 2 nights were a bit too fresh, I remember reading something like 12°C in the forecast)
Because with the cold, you can always put on more stuff. But with the heat, its not that easy. And this year it was as noticeable as ever for me: My brain slows down when its hot. Im sitting with my peepz in our camp, under one of those textile roofs attached to a camper. One would think it blocks the sun, as there is shade under it, but I still felt the suns heat on my bald head. Late afternoon finally some clouds appeared, covered the sun and 10 minutes later after the sun was hidden and it became noticeably cooler, it was like a switch was flipped for me. I didnt feel like just hanging around anymore, my head became clearer and I started to participate in the conversations again.
But most importantly, I was able to party the night from friday to saturday without worrying about the heat.
In the last years on multiple occassions, the sunrise was my reminder to slowly wrap it up, as I know from experience that coming down in the blazing sun is torture, especially when you really need that sleep because youre also working.
This year I finally could party as long as I felt like partying and went to sleep without waking up 2h later drenched in sweat.
Besides my vampire complexion, I think its also generally better for everyone to have weather like this year. Its annoying to get cold, but at the same time, it forces at least some people back to their tents and get new clothes. Which in turn means they are more likely to take a break, have a snack or just decide to just stay at the camp if its too cold/raining.
Additionally, in temps like this year, they are also less likely to land at the medics due to the body being overwhelmed with substances and the heat on top.
So while sunny skies are of course nice festival weather, realistically and objectively speaking, its not only better for me, but also for everyone to have weather like this year I believe![]()
Also good to know what the lowest point was around; I sure wondered. It felt like winter to me. That coldest night, I wore leggings; a tight T-shirt; relatively thick, knit, long cardigan; tight, slightly padded windbreaker type jacket; a huge flannel type shawl around both head and upper body; thick socks; sneakers; thick woolen wrist gaiters; gloves; so-called EarBags. AND my waterproof rain set. Mostly synthetic materials, too, which usually keep the heat pretty well. Still froze to pieces.
So this "still can put on more stuff" is debatable, although it was the 1st time it was that bad, and you do have a point in that we can't unzip our skin & crawl out of it, if hot. But we can shower off freshly under the water taps ...
I do agree with you on that scorching sun also can be tough, however, when there's no getting away from it. And if working, so much worse, as there really is no escape.
You also have a point in the breaks aspect likely being more "healthy" for many, if they have no other brakes.
But I'm afraid, from my horizon, warm but partially cloudy weather still gets my vote. Most of this year was too extreme one way or the other.![]()
And Im also fairly sensitive to cold, so when Im tired, I totally get you, and have been called whiny myself.
When coming down during morning, I did get cold as well, especially due to my body slowly shutting down after a long day and a long night.
So yeah it could have been somewhat warmer, but given the choice, Id rather have next years weather be like this and just go get a spicy snack and then go to Eclipse again for a nice hot tea and warm up that way instead of having to deal with heat as a constant annoyance. I brought several nice, soft blankets, so in bed I was all nice and comfy. Cant get comfy during heat in a tent![]()

Let's see what we are served next ...
