Re: Meshtastic Coordination
This sounds really cool, are there instructions on how to set this up as a user?

In true anarchistic spirit there is no consensus yet haha

Re: Meshtastic Coordination
The telegram group seems to be set on medium fast. It would be somewhat advantageous to reach consensus. I’ve seen posts of people reporting an air time of up to 50% on long fast, so that leaves room for improvement and medium fast seems like the most beneficial modem preset.
Re: Meshtastic Coordination
Hey,
I am with LFR and elia.blue, part of the SonnenDeck Crew. We only just stumbled on this thread (Thanks to Michael).
In the meantime we'd already started our own Telegram group (25+ members): https://t.me/meshtastic_fusion. Feel free to join, and let's coordinate so we don't end up fragmented across separate meshes.
Our configuration:
Region: EU_868
Radio preset: MEDIUM_FAST
Channel: Default (Key: AQ==)
Language: German / English (English preferred so nobody's left out
)
We'll run a router node at the SonnenDeck Bar plus several Heltec nodes scattered around the area. (+ the nodes of the other group members)
We also plan to run a bot that announces the mesh on MEDIUM_FAST, so newcomers land on the right preset.
TL;DR of the Telegram group so far:
- Consensus settings: EU_868, MEDIUM_FAST, default channel (Key: AQ==). This matches what the Berlin Meshtastic community moved to after leaving LONG_FAST.
- MEDIUM_FAST and LONG_FAST are NOT compatible, even on the same channel and key. Different presets don't decode each other's traffic, they just show up as noise. So everyone needs to be on MEDIUM_FAST to share one mesh.
- Hardware: Heltec v3/v4 (some with GNSS), T1000-E, and a few nRF-based nodes.
- Battery Life for Heltec nodes approx 1-2 day with 3.000mAh
