Quicker from Hamburg or Berlin to Fusion

I have a friend who is travelling from abroad to germany for the festival and is considering Hamburg or Berlin then travelling the the site.

Can anyone tell from experience which is the better journey..Hamburg or Berlin to Lärz?

* it is about an hour to go to neustrelitz by train..
from there you will find the shuttle to the festival.
