Solo traveler

Beitrag von trippydippy »

Hi!
I'm Anna from USA, 21 years old, planning a solo trip through copenhagen/amsterdam/berlin in june, and heard about this for the first time today. I love our burner festival scene in the US and am interested in joining the festivities for Sunday the 28th.

I'm looking to find someone who might have a spot available in their camp, or be open to letting me use sleeping gear for a night since I can't carry much with me. If you know how I can connect with folks like this, let me know! This festival is calling to me!

I don't got room in our tent or stuff to spare sadly, but I got a few tips for where on the festival grounds you could sleep.

First and best spot is the ConTent.
All you would need is a blanket or warm clothes. And it would also work totally fine in rain!
There is a big wooden platform covered in a rug with a tent over it. The rug stays clean enough because people have to take off their shoes. The floor is definitely warm enough to sleep on without an isolated sleeping mat. You probably wouldn't be the only one sleeping there either.
Not sure if it's a thing on Monday morning still, but all the other mornings there is people meeting there for yoga super early, so you might wake up and be surrounded by people doing yoga.

Second spot I can recommend is the Harbour.
They have a wooden platform with multiple levels and a few wooden "sofas" that all would be comfortable enough to sleep on without a mat. Some small parts have a sun sail type cover over it, but not sure how dry it stays in the rain.
It's much closer to stages that still play music and is next to the Lost&Found that rings a big bell & cheers whenever someone finds their lost stuff there. So ear plugs would probably be a very very good idea here.

Even more busy and still playing music, but with spots comfortable to sleep in (most years at least, it's build new every year and could technically change) is the dubstation.
Some of the wooden platforms next to the small waterfall would work, or the "tree house" playforms. Or if they got those big sofas under the dubstation tent again those would work too.
But there will be music and constantly people moving around, talking, dancing(, possibly without enough spacial awarness to not step/sit down on you). Depending on where they put the sofas it might be warm enough to sleep even without a blanket there.

There's a bunch more spots that would also work, but aren't as good as these three imo.
There's a lot of places to chill and possibly sleep in Neuland, Karl Kutter/Karla Kutter, Stoner Garden, Fire Space, Extravaganza, Sonnendeck, Oase, Panne Eiche and dotted all around the festival grounds.
Not sure if I'd exactly recommend it, but there's also plenty of people that just pick a random camp and sleep in it. Even once had a random person sleep in the entrance of our tent... Generally the vibe of people is to sleep the random person sleep, not to like call security on them or something. But maybe there's also some assholes that would wake the random person and send them away or get angry with them or something.

Another tip if you are worried about someone stealing your stuff or if you simply don't want to carry it around with you the whole time. There is a Safe Area and you can store stuff there for a small fee.

Also if you got connections to burners it might be worth it to ask them if they know someone going this year. There's definitely overlap in the people, both regular visitors and artists.

Good luck!
